Fee Structure

Please note that we do not operate on a contingent-fee basis.

Flat-Fee Assignments

For flat-fee assignments of $3,000 or less, full payment is required in advance. For assignments exceeding $3,000, a 50% deposit is required to commence work, with the remaining balance due prior to the release of the final deliverable.

Grant Writing

Flat fees for most grant writing assignments range from $2,000 to $20,000, depending on the complexity of the proposal and the timeframe allocated for completion.

Foundation/Corporate Giving Proposals

We will conduct a comprehensive search of foundation and corporate giving sources for a single project concept; draft a foundation letter proposal; and prepare applications for the ten best sources identified in the search for a fee of $5,000. For an additional $1,000 ($6,000 total), we can include a federal/state grant source search.

Grant Source Research

Customized grant source research is available for any project concept. This may involve keyword searches of federal grant program databases and 20,000 foundation/corporate giving sources, as well as telephone surveys and Internet research of state and local government sources. The fee typically ranges from $2,500 to $5,000, depending on the project concept and scope of the search. Full payment in advance is required for grant source research assignments.

Editing/Technical Assistance

Complete editing of client-prepared proposals and technical assistance are available on an hourly basis. Our hourly rate is $200, with a minimum of 10 hours payable in advance.

Retainer Agreements

Under a retainer arrangement, a monthly fee is established, typically in the range of $1,000 to $4,000. This includes services such as grant source research, grant opportunity alerts, proposal preparation, and ongoing advice and consultation. We track hours worked, billing at a discounted rate of $200 per hour (25% off our standard rate). Unused hours can be “banked” for future months. The retainer is due at the beginning of each month, with a minimum commitment of three months.
